Passover, should I bring a gift? If so, what?

My hebrew teacher has invited me at her house for the Seder. This will be my first experience of Pesach. I am not a jewish(nor christian nor anything else) but I am interested in judaism. I would like to know if I should bring her something as a gift, I want to be polite, and what could I give her? I only know that things that contain enzymes are prohibited during these 8 days of Passover.

Even though Pessach is Jewish holyday that doesn't require any giving of gifts or baskets ( In Purim one is required to give to at least to two people a small basket called Mishloach Manot with two kinds of kosher snacks); Any giving of a gift is always welcome...



Whenever I'm invited for a shabbos to a friend I may give of course before shabat some kosher dessert or wine.



For exemple,this Pessach ( Passavor) I will go to the seder by a dear close friend, therefore I will bring some eatable pessach dessert along with me !



What's the best way to show gratitude for a gentle kind invitation? By bringing a little gift. There's nothing better than showing gratitute to a friendly good deed ( mitzvah).



Good deeds ( Mitzvot ) should always be appreciated, just as friendships shouldn't be taken for granted.



There are a lot of options ! Just be carefull to take something kosher for Passover ! Make sure it has an orthodox supervision ! It's better if you can have it delivered to her home or bring along with you before the sunset, since it's a yom tov.

flora are a really fantastic present for a Passover meal; you may also evaluate kosher candies. Many shops promote kosher wines, and there are distinct diverse varieties (some shops have a kosher wine section); examine the label to be particular.

Don't bring food unless you absolutely know it is kosher for Passover. There are special Passover Kosher wine and chocolate.

You might want to bring flowers, or something like that.

If you take wine, make sure it is marked Kosher for passover! Flowers are always nice. Food is probably not a wise choice since foods are very restricted for this meal -- even more so than normal kosher foods.

dont bring food- they might not eat it. if you bring wine, make sure its kosher and dont open the bottle yourself, since they might not drink it. flowers are always nice and neutral, so that might be a good idea. but even if you come empty handed-that's fine! it's a mitzvah to have guests at a seder!

no gift, its not a birthday or present related holiday, we are celebrating our exodus from Egypt, but if you feel compeled to, then bring a bottle of Kosher for Passover wine (Manichevitz (sp?))
