I love to bake, and wanted to bring in meringues for my homeroom. However, I know that passover is going on now, and since I'm not jewish, I wanted to make sure that this is okay. The only restriction is that the food can't contain wheat, right?
These are the ingredients:
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
3 egg whites
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 pinch salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 tablespoons white sugar

Any help greatly appreciated :-)

unfortunately there are many more restrictions besides no wheat. Corn is something that is not kosher for passover and since cornstarch is from corn, that is not kosher for passover either. you can try substituting potato starch. if not here is a recipe for kosher for passover meringues:

Unless the people eating it are Sephardic, then change the corn starch to potato starch and measure it accordingly. I'm not sure what the substitution is.

For Ashkenazim, corn products are forbidden.
