Is it appropriate to just say Happy Passover to a Jewish friend from a non Jewish friend?

I wil answer your question in two parts:



A. Most Jews do celebrate Passover, especially the main night- called the "Seder" night where a large dinner is held and the "Hagadah" is read- the book of the departure of the Israelis from Egypt during biblical times.

Of course there are also less religious Jews or those who were born Jewish but do not practice Judaism anymore (just as there are athiests who were born Catholic) and do not practice and celebrate Christmas



B. You can greet them with a happy passover, that would be enough

All Jews with any sort of cultural or religious connection to their culture celebrate Passover.



"Happy Passover" is a very nice thing to say.

Yes, pretty much all Jews celebrate Pesach to a degree. Even those who aren't religiously observant in daily life.



'Happy Passover' is a perfectly fine greeting.
